My story
I’m Mickey Koss, a West Point graduate with a degree in economics who transitioned to the Finance Corps after four years in the infantry. One day I was looking for a customer service email address when an idea hit me for an article. I sent it off to Bitcoin Magazine and they liked it – suddenly I had to write a draft! My second submission was unfortunately rejected but it ended up being a great learning point that allowed me to better my strategy. After 10 articles were published I finally posted them on LinkedIn – scared of what friends would think – but the response was overwhelmingly positive with support from both my wife and the Bitcoin community.
Finding Confidence
Getting that initial acceptance letter from Bitcoin Magazine kicked off something inside of me; I became completely obsessed with writing. However, despite having some success stories under my belt, I still lacked confidence in myself and my writing abilities which made it difficult for me to publically promote myself or post my articles on social media platforms like LinkedIn or Twitter. It took me 10 published articles before I mustered up enough courage to post one online!
The Power Of Community
The reception that followed was nothing short of amazing; not only were friends supportive but so too were strangers within the greater bitcoin community! This support gave me more confidence in not only myself but also in my writing – encouraging me to keep going even when things got tough or discouraging reviews came rolling in. In fact, one editor whom initially rejected an article has now hired me behind-the-scenes on their YouTube channel!
Write Your Proof-Of-Work Resume
The truth is anyone can be just as successful as I am; all it takes is hard work and dedication coupled with some luck here and there! If you’re looking for your own “proof-of-work” resume then look no further than Bitcoin Magazine’s open call for submissions: any topic related to cryptocurrency will do! And if you get stuck along the way don’t forget about how passionate this online crypto community can be: they are always willing help out newbies like myself who are just starting out their journey into blockchain technology and digital currency development!
Conclusion
All told, this experience has been invaluable – both professionally as well as personally – teaching me valuable lessons about perseverance through failure while fostering relationships that will last long into the future. Writing may not be everyone’s cup of tea but if you have an idea then give it shot – you never know where it could lead you!
